A POUND FOR STRAY CATTLE STOOD IN BARGATE NEAR THE NORTH END OF THE SHEEP PENS. {1} ITS EXISTENCE IS POSSIBLY INDICATED BY CORPORATION RECORDS IN 1681(?). THE POUND IS MARKED ON BOTH HALL'S (1741) AND ARMSTRONG'S (1779) PLANS OF THE TOWN OF BOSTON. {2}{3}{4}
