A long, low range of ten red brick almshouses built in 1625 by Sir Thomas Middlecott. Steeply pitched roof punctuated by five chimneystacks. {1}
Built 1625 by Sir Thomas Middlecott for a master and ten poor people, four from Fosdyke and six from Algarkirk, of good name with good reputations, aged at least 40 years. When founded in the 17th century inmates were given 8d a week, a cloak containing 4 yards and a load of turf and half a caldron of sea coals. Now converted to private dwellings. {2}
Almshouses built in 1625 by Sir Thomas Middlecott for 9 women and one male superintendent. The almshouses were altered in the early 20th century. They are built of red brick in English bond with a corrugated asbestos roof, with raised brick coped gables and 5 brick ridge stacks. The almshouses have a lobby entry plan. In the left hand gable there are iron ties in the form of the initials 'TM'.
