Description
TF 33 SW FOSDYKE WASH ROAD (west side) 11/30 Middlecott's Hospital 7/5/80 II Almshouses. Built in 1625 by Sir Thomas Middlecott for 9 women and one male superintendent. Altered early C20. Red brick in English bond, corrugated asbestos roof, with raised brick coped gables and 5 brick ridge stacks. Lobby entry plan. Single storey, 15 bay range with tall brick plinth, arranged with a small segmental headed doorway beneath each stack, flanked by single C20 2 light casements. Beneath the eaves a layer of mud walling around the wall plate. In the left hand gable initial iron ties "TM". Listing NGR: TF3216432935
