Full Description

PRN 12805 AT 'A' - TF431529 AND 'B' - TF432528. TWO SALTERN SITES, WITH THUMB BRICKS. IRON AGE AND 1ST CENTURY ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY WERE FOUND AFTER DEEP PLOUGHING IN WRANGLE LOW GROUNDS.{2} AT 'C' - TF431530 A THIRD SITE HAS YIELDED A SCATTER OF ROMANO-BRITISH SALTERN MATERIAL AND COARSE POTTERY.{3} ALL THE AREAS ARE UNDER PLOUGH. 'A' AND 'C' ARE TWO SLIGHTLY RAISED REGIONS OF REDDENED SOIL CONTAINING BRIQUETAGE. NOTHING WAS NOTED AT 'B' AND NO POTTERY WAS SEEN AT ANY TIME.{1} SITE CONFIRMED BY FENLAND SURVEY WHEN IT WAS DESCRIBED AS BEING SUBSTANTIALLY MOUNDED AND ON A RODDON. ONE FRAGMENT OF GREYWARE POTTERY FOUND. {5}
