Full Description
The remains of limestone wall foundations were encountered during a programme of trial trenching in December 2016. These appeared to be the remains of two discrete Late Medieval buildings roughly 200m apart. Pottery of 16th to 17th century date was recovered from both, and the demolition deposit of the southeastern building was truncated by a post-Medieval furrow. Parts of the walls from both buildings showed evidence of limestone having been robbed out. A possible trackway and large boundary ditch of Late Medieval date lie just to the south of the building remains (see MLI84827). {1}{2}
