Full Description
During a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording in 2014, a group of limestone wall footings and post pads were encountered, representing a complex of demolished post-Medieval buildings. An associated cobbled path, limestone-lined drains and a yard surface were also revealed. Within one of the probable buildings was a group of limestone slabs representing a probable fireplace or hearth. Finds including animal bone, post-Medieval window glass and pottery sherds were recovered from a number of the excavated features. A late Medieval or early post-Medieval jetton was recovered from between the cobbles of a section of path. {1}{2}
