Full Description

The place name 'Mill Hill' is marked in this location on the 1st edition 1" Ordnance Survey map. Alongside the placename, a circular earthwork mound is also depicted here on the later, more detailed 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map. It is thought likely that this was the location of a former windmill, of possible medieval date. {1}{2} Although the field had been subjected to some ploughing, slight traces of the mound could still be seen in 1964. {3} Further ploughing and development of this site has removed what remained of the mound, and no trace of the earthwork can now be seen. {4}
