Full Description

A scheme of geophysical survey undertaken in May 2024 identified a large curved linear feature, along with additional probable features including ridge and furrow. {1}{2} Follow up excavations in the same year found no trace of the ridge and furrow, but a ditch, gully, and a small number of pits were recorded. Dating evidence was almost entirely absent with the exception of a single pit containing a small quantity of post-medieval pottery and a residual medieval sherd. The remains of a probable sheep burial were also recorded. {3}[4}
