Full Description
A programme of geophysical survey in 2008 encountered a complex of enclosures on land to the west of Binbrook, representing probable Prehistoric to Romano-British settlement. The complexity of the survey results and the presence of apparently overlapping enclosures on different alignments indicate more than one phase of settlement on the site. Two possible ring ditches were identified within a large curvilinear or sub-rectangular enclosure which continued past the edge of the surveyed area. Other intercutting rectilinear and curvilinear enclosures and ditches on various alignments were also recorded, as were pit-like features or burnt areas. The western extent of this settlement is not known. {1}
