Full Description
A series of linear anomalies were identified during geophysical surveying on land at Towngate East (ELI14508). The anomalies were aligned north west to south east, which stop at a low ridge to the south. The anomalies overlapped with enclosure features identified during the same survey, as part of a late Iron Age and Roman settlement that was also present on the site (MLI81553). These anomalies appeared much weaker than the features of the settlement and were not easy to distinguish over the settlement features, were identified as probable ridge and furrow. {1}
