Full Description

A trackway, probably of post-medieval date, which ran from the north and west of Eastville Road, Toynton St Peter, and south of Bacon Hall (MLI127440). The trackway can be seen on a 1614 map from the Toynton Manor Survey, showing the track forming a small enclosure consisting of four plots (SLI18658). A geophysical survey undertaken in 2017 revealed two linear features, approximately 3.5m wide, running parallel to the modern northern and western field boundaries, which are consistent with the track route shown on the 1614 Toynton Estate map. The trackway is not present on the 1887 Ordinance Survey map, suggesting it was in disuse by then. {1}{2}{3}
