Full Description

The former Coach House associated with Moortown House Farm, Moortown. The building is built of red brick, and post-dates 1814. It appears a second storey was added in a newer brick, and the roof has been raised and replaced c.1950s along with other alterations including new windows. The building is related to the working part of the wider 19th century designed estate. The coach house is located in close proximity to the main farmhouse, to the immediate southwest. The results of a desk based assessment, and building survey considered the building may have functioned as a granary adjacent to a former stables demolished at some point between 2011 and 2017. Alterations are apparent including the conversion of former doors to windows, suggestive of changing practices on the farming estate. {1}{2}
