Summary

Two ditches containing a small quantity of Bronze Age pottery were identified in an area of Iron Age and Roman activity were excavated in 2019.

Full Description

Two ditches in proximity to each other were both found to contain Bronze Age pottery. A total of four sherds were recovered, all of the same post-Deverel-Rimbury plain ware representing two jar vessels. Three of the sherds relate to the same jar. The condition of the sherds was considered to represent primary deposition, with the sherds not being especially degraded. No other Bronze Age material was recovered from the trial trenching scheme on the site. {1}{2}
