Full Description

A former stable, built in limestone rubble with a pitched gabled pantile roof. It likely dates to the early 19th century. The roof structure had a single hand sawn wooden tie beam; it is likely that the building was reroofed at some point, as the remaining timbers are machine sawn. A brick extension was added to the building in the late 19th century, which was since demolished and replaced by other modern brick structures. Internally, the stalls had been removed, and the only surviving fixture was a timber food trough on the northwest wall adapted with the addition of a half-sectioned ceramic sewer pipe, possibly to make cleaning easier. {1}{2}
