Full Description
Furrows of probable medieval or early post-medieval date were excavated in June 2023 at Downtown, Gonerby Moor, Grantham as part of a trial trenching scheme regarding the proposed construction of a restaurant {1}{2}. Furrows were recorded in all four trial trenches on an approximate northwest to southeast orientation, matching other areas of ridge and furrow in the area (MLI82368) identified in NMP and partially in LIDAR, although the site itself had no upstanding earthworks or NMP cropmarks. The furrows were cut by probably post-medieval or modern French drains.
