Full Description

Former barn at 20 Chapman Street, Market Rasen, The building was surveyed by Neville Hall in October 2018 prior to its proposed demolition and the construction of a new residential dwelling on the site. It is a single storey, three bay barn constructed of red brick, under a pitched gabled pantile roof. It was constructed in 1871-2. The north elevation was originally open, with 3 three-pointed arched openings. Above each opening are three string courses of yellow and red brick below eaves height, with three more at mid level built of red brick and tile. Each arched opening has a sawtooth dentil course above. A simple modern lean-to extension of brick under a corrugated roof was added to the west end of the north elevation at some point in the 20th century. {1}{2}
