Full Description

In 2015 a geophysical survey by magnetometry was conducted on a prominent mound rising above the fens to the east of Manor Farm, Langhole Drove, Pinchbeck, as part of a private research project undertaken by the Pinchbeck History and Archaeology Group. A northeast-southeast curving to east-west aligned curvilinear feature was encountered along the contour of the mound, most likely representing a former ditch separating the dry higher ground and more marginal ground to the north and west. Within this enclosure was a series of possible pits, ponds, hollows and ditches possibly associated with agricultural activity at Manor Farm, though at least one curvilinear anomaly was considered to be of possible prehistoric date. {1}
