Full Description

A series of undated features were discovered on land at Maidenwell Manor, Maidenwell, during trial trenching in 2019, including ditches and pits. A northwest-southeast aligned ditch may have been a former agricultural field boundary, or a boundary for an earlier iteration of the manor house. A squared-off chalk block was discovered at the base of one of the pits to the south of the current building, and was likely used as a post-pad for a timber beam in an earlier phase of construction. {1}{2}
