Full Description
The remains of two brick structures were identified on land at the Old School, South Ormsby, comprising three brick wall foundations of a rectangular east-west aligned building, a brick drain with associated walls, and a possible surface. The cobbled material making up the surface suggests it may have been an external yard rather than an internal floor. These remains may correspond to patronage and stable buildings shown on the 1803 Massingberd estate map, within the glebe land associated with St. Leonard’s church. A small assemblage of 18th-19th century finds was recovered from the building remains. {1}{2}
