Full Description

Late 19th century outbuilding to the rear of Beauclerk House. The building was the subject of a building survey undertaken by Mother Architects in 2019, prior to its proposed demolition. It is visible on the 1886 OS map of Caistor. On the 1905 OS map, another outbuilding can be seen to the west of the Coach House, although that has since been demolished. Originally the building appears to have been used for housing animals, with an open central 'leading-in' area and stables to the East and West. In the latter half of the 20th century the building was converted to low quality domestic accommodation. The building is single storey, under a pitched gabled roof of concrete tile. It is constructed of a single skin of relatively large red bricks, with a mixture of half-cut and machined timbers in the roof. The walls are rendered with a cementatious mortar and colourwashed. {1}
