Full Description

The Red Lion Inn was an inn located at 22 Straight Bargate, which had existed under that name since at least 1515. The inn would have been rebuilt over time. The last inn building to be present on the site was demolished in 1959. This was a 19th century three-storey building. The front elevation had three bays, with a central carriage entrance flanked by two two-storey canted bays. The hipped roof was concealed by a third floor parapet. {1}
