Full Description

Former school. Single storey building with walls of undressed stone, under a steeply pitched gabled tile roof. Dressed ashlar window surrounds. One ridge stack. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a school was built in 1841, and was replaced in 1868 by 'a new and excellent building, with teacher's house'. In 1872 it was attended by around 30 children. {2} The building is shown in its current plan form on the 1905 OS map. {3} The school was closed in the late 20th century.
