Full Description

Mid 19th century former lodge building to Highfield House (see MLI89172), now in use as a private residence. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar stone dressings, and features pitched roofs of slate. The style of the former lodge is very similar to that of the adjacent Highfield House, and it is likely that it was built at the same time, to the designs of the same architects (Bellamy and Hardy of Lincoln). The building is depicted on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map, with the former main entrance driveway to Highfield House passing to its immediate north (unlike the present arrangement, where Highfield House is approached from the north-west). {1}{2}
