Full Description

A building and outbuilding can be seen in the 1888 Ordnance Survey 25" map in a plot of land just to the south of Wood Farm (MLI116578). They may have been farm buildings associated to Wood Farm or an independent house or farmstead. By 1905 the outbuilding appears to have been demolished and a new outbuilding existed to the south of the plot. These buildings continued to exist by the time of the 1950 OS map. Satellite images from December 2002 show the demolished foundations of the main building. The buildings fell in to disuse at some point in the second half of the 20th century. There are traces of magnetic disturbance likely caused by the presence of the buildings mentioned, which are recorded in a magnetometry survey carried out in the area in January 2020. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
