Full Description
A memorial commemorating the Civil War Battle of Gainsborough, fought on the 28th of July 1643 (for details of the battle, see MLI52062). The memorial takes the form of a stone obelisk with triangular top, with a commemorative plaque attached to its northern face. The memorial was erected by Gainsborough Town Council, and was unveiled on the 28th of July 1995, marking the 352nd anniversary of the battle. {1}{2}
