Full Description

Former retort house at the Crowland Gas Works. The building is thought to have been constructed in 1853, at the same time that the works were established (see MLI126032). The structure is of two-storeys and built of red rick with a pitched roof. The building was converted into a row of 4 terraced houses after the closure and sale of the gas works in 1899. Some alterations have occurred, including the insertion of modern windows and the addition of rear extensions. {1}{2}{3}
