Full Description
Jan 1971: An inhabitant of Brothertoft says that he remembers as a young man, an old navvy saying that Skerth Drain was re-dug and extended from about TF 215 460 to TF 207 468 to meet Gill Dyke. Gill Dyke was dammed at TF 207 468 and the waters diverted thus into the South Forty Foot. The old navvy also said that this was part of the old Car Dyke. {1}
