Full Description

The early 20th century waterworks complex at Sutterton was located in this area off Spalding Street. The complex is believed to have been established in about 1940, as documented on historic mapping of this area, although the exact date of construction is not clear. The complex was comprised of a number of buildings and structures, including an octagonal concrete water tower, a former pump house and plant room, and a number of tanks and storage bays. Three underground water reservoirs and other underground services are also thought to have been on the site. {1}{2}{3} The surviving waterworks structures were demolished and the site was cleared for new housing in c.2010. {4}
