Full Description

Park Cottages first appears on mapping in 1803, though was probably constructed in the mid-18th century as a remnant of a farm complex, constructed between 1716 and 1803. The building was Z-shaped in plan and was likely to be a single dwelling homestead. Between the mapping surveys of the 1841 Tithe Map and the 1888 OS map, alterations were made to the cottages, probably including an internal division of the building into two attached dwellings. Further alterations were made in the 20th century, including a two-storey extension to the north end elevation of the property. A site visit was made to the property as part of a heritage impact assessment on the 20th March 2019. During this site visit it was noted that some original internal layout and details, such as cellars, doors and cupboard joinery still survived within the building. A photograph record was also made of the exterior and interior. {1}
