Full Description

The site of a dense cluster of variously sized pits and sites which had been subjected to intense heat was recorded during a fluxgate gradiometer survey on land at Torksey Lock. These features may relate to industrial activity, potentially as kilns and ancillary features. This could indicate the features are related to pottery production which is known to have taken place in the vicinity during the Roman period (see MLI116370). {1}
