Full Description
Stainton le Vale war memorial stands in the churchyard of the Church of St Andrew. The memorial is formed of a pedestal of limestone mounted on a two-stepped base with the lead-filled inscriptions engraved on an inset tablet. Originially, a lantern sat on the top, but all that remains of this today is the metal cradle. The memorial was unveiled in 1928, but was never dedicated, and was built to commemorate the fallen of the First World War. {1}
