Full Description

Rothwell war memorial is located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary Magdalene. The date of the memorial's unveiling is unknown; however it was erected in order to commemorate the fallen of the First World War. It is a 7.5ft (2m) high octagonal tapered stem and cubic stone socket resting on two steps. The pictorial head consists of a stylised shield with arts and crafts portrayals of a crucifix and St George carved into the front and back faces. {1}
