Full Description
Leadenham war memorial stands in the churchyard of the Church of St Swithin. The memorial is made out of Clipsham stone, and consists of a Lantern cross with finely carved representations of St Swithin, St George and St Michael, designed by London architect William Samuel Weatherby. It has a two stepped base surmounted by an octagonal plinth which holds the names of those who died in the First World War. It was originally located on the northwest corner of the crossroads, known as Nun's Close, but was moved to the churchyard in the early 1960s when the road was widened. {1}
