Full Description
Keelby war memorial stands at the junction of Broadway and Manor Street. Unveiled in 1921, the memorial is a 16.5ft (5m) high Portland stone obelisk. The memorial has a base of three steps and is surmounted by an ornate, stylised cross. The memorial honours the fallen of the First World War and the Second World War. Unusually, it also includes the names of two sisters who drowned when the RMS Lusitania was torpedoed and sunk by the Germans off the Irish coast in 1915. {1}
