Full Description

Dowsny village hall was built as a Peace Hall to commemorate the efforts of the First World War. The Hall is located on Main Road, south of Fen Road. The building of the Hall was commissioned by Mr Arthur Wellesley Dean, Justice of the Peace of Dowsby Hall, and was designed by architect Wilfrid Bond of Grantham, in June 1920. The Hall officially opened on 6 June 1921. The opening was marked with musical entertainment, afternoon tea, and a village dance. {1}
