Full Description

Pottery ranging from 13th to 16th century found at different levels in a pit dug for a septic tank just north-east of Rectory. Pieces of worked limestone, one dating to 1550, also a brick sewer of square section, was found at Rectory Farm at TF293355. All of these finds are held by Boston Archaeological Group, including Stamford ware. The site is now under crop, indicated by Hilary Healey. {1}{2}{3}{4} Medieval pottery including Ipswich ware was found in 1975, in the area of Rectory Farm. {5}
