Full Description
A number of undated features were recorded in this location in September 2014, during archaeological monitoring of the installation of a new ground source heating system at Bitchfield Manor House. The features comprised the remains of a probable ditch or extraction pit, a former trackway, and a shallow pit containing a charcoal-rich fill, suggesting it may have functioned as a possible hearth. No finds were recovered from any of the features, however, and their exact origins could not be determined. {1}{2}
