Full Description
A curvilinear magnetic anomaly was identified in this location in May 2016, during magnetometry survey of land to the south of Chestnut Drive. It was thought that the anomaly could represent the remains of a ditched feature of possible archaeological origin. {1}{2}
Subsequent trial trenching, conducted in September 2016, confirmed the presence of a ditched feature in this area. The ditch was aligned on a roughly north-west to south-east axis, running parallel to the nearby hedge boundary. No artefacts were recovered from the feature, however, which remains undated. {3}{4}
