Full Description

A small quantity of unstratified medieval finds were recovered in this location in May 2016, during field walking on land to the south of Scotter. The assemblage comprised four fragments of medieval roof tile, two sherds of Beverley Orange ware pottery, one sherd of Humberware pottery and a sherd of Coal Measures Whiteware pottery, all dating from the 13th to 16th centuries. No discernible pattern to the distribution of the artefacts was identified, and it was thought likely that the assemblage had derived from manuring scatters. {1}{2}
