A former level crossing keepers cottage at Mallows Lane. The crossing was on part of the Great Northern Railway's, East Lincolnshire Railway line, this part of which opened in October 1848. The cottage was built to a standardised design that appeared on all the manned crossings of the Boston to Firsby stretch of the ELR. The basic design was L-shaped, with the long arm of the L running parallel to the railway. The cottage is of two storeys, and was constructed of red brick with pitched slate roofs with wide overhangs. The building is still extant, although has been enlarged and extended, and is now in use as a private residence. {1}{2}
