Full Description

Whilst not included in the detailed programme of historic building recording of the larger outbuilding to the east (see PRN 58099), this outbuilding at Cliff House Farm was briefly described in September 2016. The building is single-storey, and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with a pitched pantile roof. The structure functioned as a former cart shed, being open-fronted to the east to give access for the carts. It is thought to be roughly contemporary with the farmhouse to the west, dating from the early 19th century. {1}{2} Whilst not included in the detailed programme of historic building recording of the former farm house to the west (see PRN 56462), this outbuilding at Cliff House Farm was briefly described in January 2017. It is a one storey, open-fronted cart or implement shed with a lean-to shed on the north side. The interior has 4 bays, seperated by timber posts. The building is constructed out of roughly coursed limestone rubble with a pitched pantile roof. Its proximity to the main farmhouse suggests that it may have originally been used as the stables or trap house. {3}{4}
