Full Description

Station Farm, Barlings. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {1} The working part of the farm comprised two C-shape plan complexes of outbuildings. Between the late 19th and early 20th century, a central range was added to the southern complex to create an E-plan form, separating the crewyard in two. A pair of semi-detached farmworker's cottages was built at the end of the access track to the farm in 1909. More recently, the northern outbuilding complex including its crewyard was covered with a corrugated modern shed structure. {2}{3}
