Full Description
The remains of a linear feature and a group of pit-like anomalies were identified in this location in March 2015, during magnetometry survey of land to the north of Metheringham Heath Lane. The linear feature was recorded as an east to west aligned negative magnetic anomaly, running parallel to the course of the adjacent road. It was thought to represent the remains of an upcast feature, such as a bank, wall foundation or stone culvert. None of the features in this location appear to be depicted on any historical map editions of this area, however, and no date could be suggested for their origin. {1}{2}
