Full Description

The remains of a former military railway were identified and photographed in this location in July 2007, during site visits conducted for the Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. Most of the rails have been removed, with some now being utilised for fencing in the area, although some are still extant. The railway was presumably constructed to supply ammunition to the gun batteries of the adjacent Boston Examination Battery (see MLI13376). {1}{2}{3}
