Full Description

This complex of agricultural buildings was the subject of a programme of historic building recording, conducted in December 2015, to inform their proposed conversion. The surveyed buildings comprise two attached, single-storey ranges of mid 19th century date, built perpendicular to each other. Both ranges are constructed of brick, with roofs of pantiles to the northern range, and corrugated sheet metal to the western range. The buildings can be seen to re-use foundation courses from previous structures on the site, indicating an earlier, possibly 18th century, origin for the farmstead. A central, single-storey, timber-built range was added to the complex in the late 19th century, though this has since been demolished, with the building material piled in the courtyard. The complex is enclosed by a number of 20th century boundary walls, built from a variety of materials, including brick and timber planking. {1}{2}
