Full Description

A surfaced passageway or path, defined by two parallel, roughly hewn limestone block walls of mid 19th century date, was revealed in November 2015, during trial trenching on land at the former Lord Tennyson Public House, 72 Rasen Lane, Lincoln. The walls and path were aligned on a north-east to south-west axis, paralleling the course of Rasen Lane, and implying some form of subdivision of the late post-medieval property at this location. Three sherds of likely early 19th century pottery were recovered from the fill of the construction cuts for the walls. {1}{2}
