Full Description

The former granary and cart shed at Pocklington's Mill was included in a programme of historic building recording, conducted in February 2014 to inform proposed renovation and renewal works at the site. The structure is single-storey, and comprises a central granary building built in c.1890, with a probably slightly later cart shed attached to the east, and a late 20th century office structure to the south-west. The building is constructed of brick, generally laid in Flemish Garden wall bond, though with some more recent elevations in modern stretcher bond, and features a pitched corrugated cement fibre roof. The structure would likely have functioned as a combination granary and cart shed until the mill ceased to operate in 1941. The building is now used for storage, although some walls have partly collapsed, and the building is in poor condition. {1}{2}
