Bracebridge Heath war memorial stands on Sleaford Road (A15) opposite the junction with Grantham Road (A607). The 16ft (5m) high, stone octagonal shaft surmounted by a Gothic cross is placed on a three tier base constructed with Clipsham stone. It was unveiled in 1921 to commemorate those who died in the First World War. {1} This memorial takes the form of an elegantly-designed and well-executed Gothic cross of Clipsham stone. The memorial stands at about 16ft in height, and features a two-stepped square base, above which is a two-stepped plinth, from which the tapered shaft of the cross rises. The plinth carries a number of dark grey slate plaques, on which the commemoration is written in gold text. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated in March 1921, and commemorates 15 local individuals who fell in the First World War. Nine further names were later added to commemorate those who fell in the Second World War.
