Full Description

A redeposited sherd of Anglo-Saxon pottery was recovered from a probable post-medieval burial in June 2012, during archaeological monitoring of residential development at Cuthbert's Yard. The sherd was a fragment from a Northern Maxey-type ware bowl or jar, dating to the 8th to mid 9th centuries. {1}{2}
