Full Description

Two ditches of probable post-medieval date were identified in this area in June 2015, during trial trenching on land to the north of High Leas Farm, South Reston. The ditches were cut by 20th century land drains, but ran parallel or perpendicular to the existing post-medieval field pattern, suggesting they were contemporary and represented former field boundaries lost during later land consolidation in this area. Fragments of post-medieval tile recovered from one of the ditches would seem to confirm this interpretation. {1}{2}
